Donor Spotlight: A bequest to aid tomorrow’s educators

Beverly K. (Buchner) Lewis ’60 enjoyed a rewarding career in education after graduating from UW-Platteville and has established a bequest in her will to help future students pursuing careers as educators. The bequest will provide grants and scholarships to assist students needing financial assistance. Her family’s prioritizing of education and her own rewarding career teaching kindergarten and first grade for more than 30 years inspired her to create her planned gift. “My gift was influenced by my family background where education was a priority,” Beverly says, adding that she urges her fellow alumni to do likewise. “It’s important to support the university, extending a helping hand where one is needed!”
